Established in November 2000, the Chinese Follow-up Committee of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) currently has 36 member departments or agencies: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, China International Development Cooperation Agency, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, National Health Commission, People’s Bank of China, General Administration of Customs, State Taxation Administration, State Administration for Market Regulation, National Financial Regulatory Administration, National Radio and Television Administration, National Press and Publication Administration, State Council Information Office, National Energy Administration, State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence, Civil Aviation Administration, National Medical Products Administration, China Film Administration, Central Committee of the China Communist Youth League, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, China Development Bank, Export-Import Bank of China, Bank of China, China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation, People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, etc. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency are the honorary co-chairmen, and leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Commerce in charge of the relevant work and vice chairman of the China International Development Cooperation Agency serve as co-chairmen. The Committee has a secretariat comprised of director-general level officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, China International Development Cooperation Agency, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the competent department of the International Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, with the Director-General of the Department of African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the Secretary-General. The Office of the Secretariat is set up in the Department of African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
