Institute of West-Asian and African Studies Chinese Academy of social sciences

The Institute of West-Asian and African Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IWAAS) of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was established on 4 July 1961 on the instructions of Chairman Mao Zedong. With the authorized staffing level of 68, the IWAAS is the largest academic institution and think-tank on Middle East and African studies in China. Its predecessor was Institute of Asian and African Studies, which is affiliated to the Division of Philosophy and Social Sciences of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Centre for African Studies of Peking University(PKUCAS)

The Centre for African Studies of Peking University(PKUCAS), founded in 1998, is an interdisciplinary institution for comprehensive African research. It consists of teachers and research fellows from different departments and institutes at the university, who specialize in African politics, economy, culture, history, sociology, languages and literature. The center now has about 20 staff members and 10 invited guest researchers and several dozens of students associates that now are based world-widely.

The African Studies Center of China Foreign Affairs University (ASC)

The African Studies Center of China Foreign Affairs University (ASC) is a non-profit academic mass organization, affiliated to China Foreign Affairs University. The ASC conducts teaching and research activities related to African politics, economy, culture and Sino-African relations. It also organizes academic discussions, symposiums, seminars, exchanges on academic development and information. The Center compiles, edits and publishes research results, information and essays. It collects and exchanges domestic and foreign academic information and materials about the subject. It also provides consulting service for diplomatic and foreign relations departments of government and relevant social organizations.

Institute of African Studies Zhejiang Normal University

IASZNU (Institute of African Studies, Zhejiang Normal University) aims to build itself into a state-level institution of African Studies featuring academic research, personnel cultivation, international exchanges and policy-consulting. It plans to step up strenuous and serious efforts in the coming years to construct academic ideas, establish its own academic school, pursue academic characteristics, forge academic brand and cultivate a team of academics to position itself as a dynamic first-class institution with comprehensive disciplines and an advanced administrative structure.

China Institute of International Studies (CIIS)

China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) is the think tank of China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It conducts research and analysis on a wide range of foreign policy issues. The Institute was founded in 1956 under the name of Institute of International Relations, and assumed the present name in December 1986.
