Ambassador Fan Yong Briefs Botswana Defence Command and Staff College on Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy

July 28, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Botswana, H.E. Fan Yong, delivered a special lecture on “China's Foreign Policy” at the Botswana Defence Command and Staff College (DCSC).

Acting Commandant of the DCSC, Colonel (Dr) Steven Thaga, along with all faculty members, and military students of the 18th Senior Command and Staff Course attended the lecture.

Focusing on Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, Ambassador Fan brought an in-depth presentation on the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity, as well as major initiatives and proposals including the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, the Global Governance Initiative, the Belt and Road Initiative and Forum of China and Africa cooperation. He also introduced China's zero-tariff policy for Africa.

Following the lecture, Ambassador Fan engaged in a lively and friendly Q&A session with the students, discussing various aspects of Chinese foreign policy.
